Starting from the Chambres d’Hôtes La Carrée aux Fins or the Morteau train station, you’ll set out on a 68 km loop through typical Doubs hamlets and numerous forest trails.

After a few kilometers, you’ll reach the Belvédère des Taillards, located near the Saut du Doubs. From there, you can even catch a glimpse of the natural border between France and Switzerland, with a restaurant adorned with the Swiss flag visible in the distance. You’ll then alternate between small country roads and trails. There’s a fairly steep climb in the woods at kilometer 12, where you may need to get off your bike.

You’ll then head towards the hamlets of Mémont, Bizot with its church, and Bélieu. The route also passes by Comté cheese dairies, such as those in Russey and Bonnétage.

Next, you’ll reach the start of the climb up Mont Vouillot, beginning at kilometer 50. Once at the summit, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of Morteau and its surroundings.
